CalCon-Viction Sept 25-27 2009
Starting this year CalCon is now organizing the Con-Viction RPGA events in association with the RPGA- Pirates of the Planes (PotP) chapter and Myth Games. There will be a variety of RPGA gaming Fri 2p to Sun 7p, it's $80 for the weekend and includes a CalCon 2010 Weekend pass in addition to the CalCon-Viction weekend, you also get a discount of $20 off the PotP's annual membership dues.. That's a pretty good deal for two events; this one and pre-restration for CalCon 2010. At the same time, though primarily on the Saturday, we'll be organizing some open board gaming as a CalCon fundraiser and to give people a discount on pre-registration for CalCon 2010. There isn't a set schedule of board games, bring your own, or play from our new game library. If you aren't signing up for the RPGA games then it's just a $10 donation with your CalCon 2010 registration, and you can register for CalCon 2010 for $5 off the regular price at the event. WestCan Premier Events will also be running a pre-release for Magic: The Gatherings newest expansion; "Zendikar" on the Saturday with a host of prizes and foils. This is a seperate event and costs $25. There will be ~$1,000.00 in door and raffle prizes, plus a variety of other prizes, come on down and join us. The venue is the Days Inn Calgary South 3828 MacLeod Trail SE. On McLeod Trail, near the 39th Ave LRT station and accessable to bus transit. Hotel rooms are $79 per night (to get the rate quote 'CalCon-Viction').
UPDATE: For the CalCon-Viction RPGA events you may also pay online and we'll forward you the link to confirm game slots. For the boardgaming fundraiser and for the Magic Pre-release you can pay at the door. Three events can be confusing, so to clarify;
Magic Pre-Release Sat (approx. 10a -8p) is $25.
Board gaming (with all those extra prizes) (primarily) Sat (10a - 11p (we'll also have some board games Fri (3p - 11p) / Sun (10a - 8p)) is $10 if you have a CalCon 2010 membership- which are also on sale for $30 (which is $15 off the regular price),
RPGA DnD (and includes board gaming) Fri (2p start) Sat (all day) Sun (8p end) is $50 with a CalCon 2010 registration and includes $20 off dues to the RPGA in Calgary (again CalCon 2010 registrations are on sale at the event- so $80 if you need to pre-reg for CalCon).
Remember this is the last chance to get registrations at this price, a week after- they go up + $10 to $40.
CalCon Pre-Reg Only $30 at the event.
